Decided to bump this post, since it's been a while since it was last active, but for me the skins have also began to disappear after viewing desktop after installing 24H2After doing some digging, it was recommended to check with illustro widgets, however I did that yet they also disappear, so there's certainly an issue with the app on this specific version of Windows 11. Let me know how it goes or if you need any more info.
